Inside the formulation

How Levocetirizine Works

Levocetirizine competitively blocks peripheral H1 histamine receptors, helping prevent histamine from triggering allergic symptoms in the nose, eyes, and skin.

Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride (5 mg)

Second-generation antihistamine

Levocetirizine is the active R-enantiomer of cetirizine. It acts as a potent, selective antagonist at peripheral H1 histamine receptors. By competitively binding to these receptors, it prevents histamine released by mast cells during allergic reactions from triggering itchy, swollen, or inflamed tissues.

Seasonal & Perennial Allergic Rhinitis

Nasal and eye symptom relief

Helps relieve sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, post-nasal drip, and itchy, watery eyes associated with seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis.

Urticaria (Hives)

Allergic skin symptom relief

Rapidly alleviates itching, reduces skin swelling and wheals, and suppresses redness associated with chronic idiopathic hives or allergic skin rashes.

Higher H1 Receptor Affinity

Selective receptor binding

Compared with cetirizine, levocetirizine has a higher affinity for H1 receptors, allowing effective relief at lower dosages with a favorable safety profile when used as directed.
